I’m calling it: Pinterest is “the new Google.” These days, I use Pinterest search 100% more than Google search when I’m looking for inspiration and new post ideas, and I’m willing to bet you do the same. And as bloggers, I’m also betting that you analyze Pinterest to see what’s trending, what’s popular, and your top repinned content to recreate those wins. Sometimes you may hit gold, and others your new post and pretty pin go unnoticed. So how can you create MORE content that you know people are looking for?

Here’s the truth: people don’t search Pinterest for general inspiration — they’re likely searching for something specific. So instead of throwing spaghetti squash recipes at the wall to see if it sticks, here’s a pro tip that will cut your work time in half:

Here’s how you can use it to create content in a more focused way.

Let’s say you hit the Popular Feed first and find that “nails” are trending.

 

Pop the term “nails” into the search bar and you’ll find a variety of other keywords associated with your main “nails” search. These are actually in order starting with the most popular keyword associated with your main search term.

 

So in this example, “summer nails” is a hot topic on Pinterest, followed by nail design, fall nails, and so on.
